According to the Mexican Solar Energy Exhibition data, so far, the country's distributed energy (solar housing) contracts have exceeded 85,000, with a total installed capacity of about 500 MW. More than 100,000 households in Mexico are expected to use solar lighting this year.
The Mexican Solar Energy Exhibition will be held from March 19 to 21 at the entro Citibanamex Exhibition Center in Mexico City, where industry decision makers and mainstream businesses gather.
The exhibition will present the latest development of photovoltaic solar industry. It is noteworthy that, nationwide, the state with the highest utilization rate of civil and commercial photovoltaic energy is Halisco, followed by New Leon, Mexico City, Chihuahua and Merida.
It is estimated that more than 40,000 photovoltaic systems were installed in 2018, an increase of nearly 50% compared with 27,000 installed in 2017.
Part of the reason for this growth is price adjustments for high-end consumers who no longer accept government subsidies, as well as changes to commercial levy schemes.
However, not only did rising electricity costs drive growth, but in the past five years, component costs have fallen by 120%.
The Mexican Solar Energy Fair will be the country's most important industrial exhibition in the field of solar energy. In addition, the Mexican Solar Energy Fair will be the first B2B exhibition in this field. The exhibitors include manufacturers of batteries and solar panels, spare parts, new technologies and tracking systems, and traditional power plants, planning and development, suppliers of systems and services, and equipment exports.
The exhibition was co-hosted by Hannover Fairs Mexico, a subsidiary of Deutsche Messe AG, and SNEC Photovoltaic and Smart Energy Exhibition in Shanghai, China, as well as Solar Power International.
Both partners have held the largest solar industry exposition in their respective countries: SNEC Photovoltaic and Smart Energy Exhibition and the US International Solar Energy Exhibition. The exhibition will attract exhibitors from Mexico, the United States, Europe and Asia, as well as a large number of professional audiences from Mexico, Central and South America and the Caribbean.
